Social Security will pay 100% of the cost of procedures costing €120 or more. For procedures costing less than €120, Social Security covers
80% of the cost, with the balance (co-payment) to be paid by the patient or, where applicable, his or her mutual insurance company.
Except in the case of outpatient treatment, the patient or his or her mutual insurance company will then have to pay the €24 insurance contribution, and a fixed daily rate of €20 if the stay is longer than one day.
These charges are waived for patients who are eligible for ALD, CMU, article 115, state medical aid (AME), or who have suffered an accident at work.
The practitioners providing your care may have opted for the conventional sector with free fees (sector 2). In this case, they are authorised to charge extra fees, which you or your mutual insurance company will have to pay. The practitioner must inform you of this.
Subject to medical justification and certain conditions, transport by Véhicule Sanitaire Léger (VSL) may be reimbursed.
You or your health insurance company will be responsible for any additional comforts you may require, subject to availability, upon express request during pre-admission.
If you wish, specific services for accompanying persons can be offered: an accompanying person's bed only for private rooms and unless medically contraindicated: €70/day. Breakfast for accompanying persons is includying. Meal for accompanying persons: €18.
